If you have Long travel or mid travel on a Chevy, you are at risk of breaking your steering rack in half. When going through the whoops, you are putting a massive amount of force from both sides on the rack and it doesn’t have enough strength to withstand these forces. When this happens, they bend in the middle and break where the cast housing meets the tube. This will ruin your day or trip.
The brace is a very simple design by adding more rigidity to the middle section of the rack. So far, to our knowledge, nobody has snapped a rack after adding the rack brace. Now let’s face the facts, this is strictly a band aid fix for pre runners, not for full race applications where you need swing set or full hydro.
Please note, these were designed around an OEM rack. Due to the availability of rebuilt and aftermarket parts, you may be required to make a minor modification if a casting spot is present. Easy install at about an hour. Hardware included.
