If you have long travel or mid travel on a Chevy, you are at risk of breaking your steering rack in half. When going through the whoops, you are putting a massive amount of force from both sides on the rack and it doesn’t have enough strength to withstand these forces. When this happens, they bend in the middle and break where the cast housing meets the tube. This brace is designed to add more rigidity to the middle section of the rack. So far, to our knowledge, nobody has snapped a rack after adding the rack brace.
Please note, these were designed around an OEM rack. Due to the availability of rebuilt and aftermarket parts, you may be required to make a minor modification if a casting spot is present. Easy to install. Hardware included.
